Use this function to upload a given file to the slack application with the given title.

Syntax

Upload File (token, channel_id, file_path, title)

Parameters

Input Parameter Name Description
token Authentication token
channel_id ID of the channel to which file should be uploaded
file_path Path of the file to be uploaded
title The message to be uploaded with the file

  • To know more about token, click here.
  • To view the Channel ID, right click on the channel name in the left menu and select Copy link in Slack. Paste in a text editor, the URL is of the format: https://<Slack URL>/<Channel ID>.

Returns

Return Value Description
Output
  • On Success returns 1 | File ID
  • On Failure returns 0 | Error Message

Sample

Upload File (xoxp-12QWERT, ABC123, C:/Username, Invoice)

  • Uses token xoxp-12QWERT to authenticate connection to Slack, uploads file in the path C:/Invoices with title Invoice to channel with ID ABC123.
    Returns File ID of the uploaded file.
