The variables created can be used in the Actions pane of the respective event action.
If the background of the V icon is white in color, then it is a constant.
The values for the constants can be provided directly in the variable’s placeholder.
If the background of the V icon is green in color, then it is a variable.
Click on the V icon to switch between Constant and Variable.
All types of variables (Input, Local and Secure vault keys) are listed in the drop-down menu as shown below:
The variables created are listed respectively under Input in red font (1), Local in black font (2) and Secure in blue (3).
Click on the variables placeholder and Select the required variable from the drop down. You can select the Input, Local or Secure Key as required in the automation step.
To make the local variable as an output variable, toggle the Out button.
It can then be mapped to the subsequent nodes in the mapping screen.
This variable listed as Input Node in the subsequent node can be mapped in the mapping screen. The variable is of type Text by default. It can be changed as required.
