The Design Canvas is the area where tasks are designed to perform any target action. The Design Canvas can be accessed in 2 modes:
- View Mode.
- Edit Mode.
View Mode
When the Design Canvas is in the View mode, the following elements can be seen on the screen:
- The name of the task can be seen at (1).
- By default, the VIEW (2) option in the View/Edit toggle button will be enabled. This option helps to view all the objects and
their details in read-only mode.
- Click on the EDIT button (3) to switch to Edit mode and create tasks.
- Click on the Close icon (4) to close the design canvas.
- The Start Node (5) and End Node (6) will be available by default in the design canvas to start with the design.
Edit Mode
When the Design Canvas is in the Edit mode, the following elements can be seen in addition to the elements seen in the View mode.
- The timestamp of when the task was saved can be seen (1). The task is auto-saved once every 30 seconds.
The text will be seen as Saving every 30 seconds, while the task
is being saved.
- The toggle button for switching between the View and Edit modes (2).
- Use the icons for Zooming in (3), Zooming out (4) and Aligning the node icons (5) present on the canvas.
- Use the Trial Run icon (6) for unit testing the task in the design screen.
- Use the Save icon (7) to save the task at any time.
- Clicking on the More icon (8), a drop-down menu with the following options can be seen:
- Overview: The Overview option is used to see the details of the task.
- Change History: Details of modifications performed to the task.
- Execution History: Details of task execution in the Execution mode.
- Connected Data: Details of dependent tasks i.e., connected tasks to the current task.
- Actions: The following actions can be performed:
- Save As: Existing tasks can be saved as a new task and can be modified accordingly as per the requirements.
- Execute in Cluster: Run the tasks with the clusters chosen in the configuration tab. It will run in the design mode, but in the cluster and it does not use the developer bot.
- Delete: Delete the task permanently.
- Download Client Installation: Download and install the client if not already installed on the Developers desktop. Clicking on this option, the Jiffy client executor file gets downloaded immediately on the desktop and it can be installed.
Once the client is installed, the machine will reboot.
- Various nodes are available for designing the workflow on Nodes pane (5). They are grouped and segregated according to the functionality like Data Sources, Sterling Components, Control, Component, UI, Email, Miscellaneous Nodes, etc.
- The Nodes pane can be expanded and collapsed by clicking on the double arrow icon at (6).
- The required nodes can be searched by name using the Search box (7).
